The Iraq Advisory Council (IAC) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation based in Baghdad and registered in accordance with the Iraqi law. The Council’s membership and staff consist of a group of highly qualified experts, academics and former policy makers, who collectively seek to enhance the civil society-state relationship, democratic process, rule of law, social justice, good governance and institutionalisation in Iraq.

Conducting and developing strategic research related to state institutions, providing scientific and practical research to decision-makers on controversial issues, unsolved files, and the decline in government performance in leading and directing the working sectors and various disciplines
Supporting strategic development of governmental and non-governmental organizations, with the aim of building a strong and effective group of Iraqi state institutions, in order to advance its capabilities to carry out its tasks now and in the future and to enable it to overcome the obstacles that it faces.
Development of a constructive and fruitful dialogue among the leaders of state institutions, with the aim to establish and develop leadership policies, increase level of performance and execution of government programs on the ground, and to establish strong channels to provide these policies.
Providing advice to governmental and non-governmental institutions in accordance with their aims and objectives, including International institutions and organizations according to the nature of their work in Iraq – As long as these goals are consistent with the basic principles stated by the Iraqi Advisory Council

Chairman
Farhad Alaaldin is Chairman of Iraq Advisory Council. He has served as the political advisor to President of Iraq Barham Saleh from Oct 2018 until March 2019, and also served as political advisor to the former President of Iraq Fuad

Sharwan is currently working as Security Advisor to President of Iraq Dr. Barham Salih
He has worked as Brigadier in Engineering Corp of Iraqi Army for Reconstruction prior to 2000 and afterwards he has assumed many positions in the new

Torhan is currently working as Chairman of the General Secretary of Higher Commission of the Provinces (GHSCP), and Representative of the Federal Government at the Parliament, 2015 to date.
